Review
Jotform review: the free plan is 100 submissions, and that is the whole story
A mature, capable form builder whose plans are drawn around monthly submissions, with one detail that catches teams out: every published tier below Enterprise is single-user.
Best for: One person collecting forms, bookings or payments where the monthly volume is predictable
Free for 100 submissions a month, then $39 a month, or $34 billed yearly See Jotform pricing
Form builders all look the same on the feature list, so the comparison comes down to where the ceiling sits and what hits it first. With Jotform, the ceiling is monthly submissions, and the free plan sets it at 100. That is enough for a contact form on a quiet site and not enough for anything with momentum. The second thing to know before comparing tiers is less obvious and more likely to catch you out: Starter, Bronze, Silver and Gold are all single-user. If two people need to open the account, you are looking at Enterprise, and Enterprise is a quote rather than a price.
Who this is for
- One person running contact forms, applications or bookings with predictable monthly volume
- Anyone taking payments through a form — the payment submission allowance is counted separately and runs out before the general one
- Teams who need more than one login should price Enterprise from the start, because every published tier is single-user

What is good, and what is not
Good
- The free plan is a working plan rather than a trial — 5 forms and 100 submissions a month with no time limit.
- Payments, file uploads and signed documents are included from the free tier, not held back as add-ons.
- Yearly billing is a genuine saving: $5 a month off Bronze, $10 off Silver, $30 off Gold.
- The step from Bronze to Silver is only $10 a month for two and a half times the submissions, which is unusually good value between tiers.
Not so good
- Every published plan is single-user. A second person means Enterprise, which is a quote rather than a listed price.
- 100 submissions a month on free goes quickly on anything with traffic, and submissions are the counter that bites first.
- Payment submissions are a separate, much smaller allowance — 100 on Bronze against 1,000 general submissions.
- Stored submissions are capped too, so a long-running form eventually forces either an upgrade or a cleanup.
- The jump from Silver at $49 to Gold at $129 is steep if you only crossed the submissions line rather than needing anything else.
- Form views are metered as well, which matters if a form sits on a high-traffic page and most visitors never submit.
The verdict
Work out two numbers before you compare anything: submissions a month, and payment submissions a month if you take money. Those are the counters that force the upgrade, and the second one is smaller than people expect. Under 100 submissions, the free plan is genuinely free and you should stay on it. Between 100 and 1,000, Bronze at $34 billed yearly is reasonable. Between 1,000 and 2,500, take Silver at $39 — $5 more for two and a half times the volume is the best-value step on the whole list. And check the single-user limit before anything else: if two people need access, none of the published prices apply to you.
If it is not the right fit
No single product suits everyone. If the drawbacks above rule it out for you, these are where we would look next — including options that earn us nothing:
| Option | From | Better if |
|---|---|---|
| Google Forms | — | Free, unlimited responses, and good enough when you do not need payments or conditional logic |
| Tally | — | People who want unlimited submissions on a free tier and a simpler builder |
| Typeform | — | Anyone who cares most about how the form feels to fill in, and will pay for it |
Questions people ask
Is the free plan time-limited?
No. It is a permanent tier with 5 active forms and 100 submissions a month, including payments and file uploads at small allowances.
What happens when I hit the submission limit?
The form stops accepting new submissions until the month resets or you upgrade, so it is worth watching the counter rather than discovering it.
Can two people share an account?
Not on Starter, Bronze, Silver or Gold — all are single-user. Multi-user access requires an Enterprise quote.
Which plan do I need to take payments?
Any of them, including free. The question is volume: 10 payment submissions a month on free, 100 on Bronze, 250 on Silver, 1,000 on Gold.
