Review
GetResponse review: the price you see is for 1,000 contacts
A capable all-in-one email and automation platform whose headline prices are quoted at 1,000 contacts, so the number you budget for is rarely the number you end up paying.
Best for: Someone who wants email, landing pages and automation in one place and is past the point of needing a free tool
From EUR 16 a month at 1,000 contacts, or EUR 13.12 on the yearly plan See GetResponse pricing
GetResponse has been around long enough to have accumulated almost everything: email, automation, landing pages, funnels, webinars, a website builder, even course hosting. That breadth is the appeal and the trap. The appeal is obvious — one subscription instead of four. The trap is that the tier carrying the feature you actually came for may be three steps up from the one you were quoting yourself. And underneath all of it sits a detail worth saying plainly before anything else: every price on the pricing page is quoted at 1,000 contacts. Your bill tracks your list size, so the figure you plan around today is a starting point, not a monthly cost.
Who this is for
- Someone replacing two or three separate tools — email plus landing pages plus automation — where one subscription genuinely works out cheaper
- People who want ecommerce features like abandoned cart recovery, which start on the Marketer tier at EUR 54 and not below
- Anyone wanting webinars or course hosting, who should look at Creator from the outset rather than upgrading into it later

What is good, and what is not
Good
- Unlimited monthly email sends on every paid tier, including the cheapest — the limit is list size, not volume.
- Three user accounts on the entry plan, which is more than most competitors give at this price.
- A 14-day trial with no card required, enough to import a real list and send properly rather than click around a demo.
- Yearly billing saves about 18%, and charities and NGOs get 50% off.
Not so good
- Every advertised price is quoted at 1,000 contacts. The cost rises with the list, so the headline figure is a floor.
- The Starter plan allows exactly one automation workflow. A welcome sequence plus anything else means upgrading.
- AI content generation is capped at 3 uses on Starter, which is effectively a demo rather than a feature.
- Abandoned cart recovery and ecommerce tracking start at Marketer — EUR 54, more than triple Starter.
- Webinars and the website builder only appear on Creator, so treat them as a reason to start there rather than a later upgrade.
- Prices are quoted in euros, which is worth checking against your own currency before committing to a year.
The verdict
Price this by your list size, not by the tier name. Pull the pricing slider to the number of contacts you actually expect in twelve months and compare the tiers at that point, because the gap between plans widens as the list grows. If all you need is email and a landing page, Starter at EUR 13.12 yearly is fair, but understand that one automation workflow is the real constraint. If you sell anything, Marketer is the honest starting point and the jump is substantial. And if webinars or courses are part of the plan, start on Creator — moving tiers later means rebuilding things you had already set up.
If it is not the right fit
No single product suits everyone. If the drawbacks above rule it out for you, these are where we would look next — including options that earn us nothing:
| Option | From | Better if |
|---|---|---|
| Kit (formerly ConvertKit) | — | Creators who mainly want email and automation and do not need landing pages or webinars bundled in |
| beehiiv | From $43 a month | Newsletter-first publishers who want a free tier to start on and monetisation built in |
| Brevo | — | People who would rather pay per email sent than per contact stored |
Questions people ask
Is there a free plan?
There is a 14-day free trial with no card required. Premium features are limited during it — webinars cap at 10 people and landing pages at 1,000 unique visitors a month.
Why does the price change when I look again?
Prices are quoted against a contact-list size. The standard quote is 1,000 contacts; move the slider and every tier's price moves with it.
Can I send unlimited emails on the cheapest plan?
Yes. Unlimited monthly sends apply from Starter upward. The limit is how many contacts you store, not how often you email them.
Which plan do I need for abandoned cart emails?
Marketer, at EUR 54 a month at 1,000 contacts. Starter does not include ecommerce tracking or cart recovery.
